Ford has announced a significant recall of 273,800 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs due to a brake line defect that could lead to fluid leaks and impaired braking, increasing the risk of accidents. The affected vehicles were manufactured between April 2021 and November 2024. Although no injuries have been reported, the defect arises from improperly routed brake lines that may scrape against the engine's air cleaner, potentially causing cracks and leaks over time. Owners will be notified by May 26 and can have their vehicles inspected and repaired at no cost. This recall highlights ongoing quality control issues within Ford as it faces pressure to maintain safety standards amidst evolving automotive technologies.
